About Vancouver Renovation Contractor - Blue Ladder Projects

Over the past 20 years, Blue Ladder has evolved from a developer and custom home builder to a full-service renovation contractor. Today, renovations and remodels are our specialty.

Lance and Terry | Blue Ladder Projects

Who we are

In 2004 Lance and Terry took their hobby of renovating and building homes for themselves to a new level and founded their own renovating business and have been building ever since. Along the way they also helped their children Reid, Alexandra and Dean establish Garage Living in BC in 2014. They have 2 grandchildren that they love dearly and are looking forward to more.

Meet our non-biological family

Blue Ladder runs on a family business model. That doesn’t mean we’re like the Partridge Family, but it does mean we treat all our employees like relatives. Get to know our dedicated team below or come visit our office. We are always happy to meet new people.

Jon Swisher
Business Development and Estimating Manager

Jon was born and raised in sunny St. Petersburg Florida. He made the move to British Columbia over 20 years ago and has been a dual Citizen for the last 8 years. His southern charm roots are evident and can even be heard in his fading accent. He has been involved in construction and renovations most of his adult life, starting with helping his Family flip Florida homes in the 90’s and then joining a renovation company in the Tri-city area upon arriving in Canada. More recently he was in an Estimator Sales role for a long standing construction company that specialized lifting and moving homes, before making the move to join our team at Blue Ladder Projects. In his free time, Jon likes to hike, golf, and also coaches competitive swimming, having been a swimmer at the collegiate/national level. Along with his wife, he is raising 4 daughters and expecting a son in mid-July 2020.

Diana
Interior Designer

Diana was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. That West Coast upbringing means that she is personable and hands on when it comes to making sure that your vision becomes a reality. She comes from a construction family so, naturally, studied construction management and then went on to get her interior design degree from BCIT. She was the sole proprietor of Veniva Interior Design for 20 years, with a focus on design in residential, commercial, corporate and retail, before making the move to join our team at Blue Ladder Projects. In her free time Diane manages a women's Div.1 soccer team and spends her down time Road and gravel cycling

Josh Bohnen
General Superintendent

Josh was born and grew up in East Vancouver in the early eighties, to a middle-class working family. As the middle child, he spent a lot of time helping his Dad with projects. This led to a broad basic education in woodwork and construction as his father ran a contracting company throughout those years. Post-college, Josh turned to the world of construction himself and began to build homes and businesses throughout the Lower Mainland of Vancouver. A carpenter by trade, Josh worked in forming, framing, finishing, millwork and millwork install, furniture building, film and television sets, and myriad other creative woodwork applications. Josh brings to the team nearly 20 years of construction experience across this wide array of disciplines, and, as the proprietor of a woodshop in Vancouver, he is capable of turning out custom millwork, fittings, and other special requests as per our clients’ needs. Josh spent the last two years working in commercial and has recently come back to his roots in residential. Josh captures the spirit of Blue Ladder in all his work and will ensure you enjoy the product and experience to the very best of his ability. His management of the trades is smooth and efficient, with plenty of communication. In his free time, Josh enjoys building pieces of furniture, working on his project car, cooking elaborate meals, and tending to the garden.
